A Simple Guide To Personal Training

This short guide will hopefully answer all your questions regarding the process of starting to work together. Please note that Coaching sessions are available in multiple locations and they may vary in pricing or availability but generally the process is the same.

Step 1: Fill out the consultation form here

This is necessary as it gives me a chance to get to know you and prepare for the consultation. Going through the form will also provide you more information about pricing options.

Step 2: Consultation (optional)

There are a few topics that need to be discussed in detail to make sure we are a good fit for each other. Typically we would cover previous training experiences or treatment/rehab history, lifestyle and any questions regarding commitment, training packages and times. This is an optional option, we could move onto the first session straight away.

Step 3: Fill out a PAR-Q and make a payment for the First session

Following our consultation, you will receive a text message with a link to
– a health questionnaire which must be filled out before the first session, and
– detailed terms and conditions and payment options.

Please note that the provisional bookings are reserved for 24 hours only. Missing the payment within that time frame could result in the cancellation of the session.

Step 4: First training session

At the beginning of the session we check how you stand and move without being instructed, and also do a few range of motion tests.

Following that we discuss the common findings in patterns and their importance – kind of finding the root of the problems, whether that’s pain/discomfort or performance related.

Based on these we do a few breathing and positioning drills and cover a few, non training related habits and principles that should be practiced and integrated into everyday activities and training.

Usually, there is also time left to go through a couple of traditional exercises.

The first session is a single session and lasts for 55 minutes.

Step 5: Sign up for a package

If we are both happy to work together, we discuss what’s the best option going forward (packages, regularity, time slots, etc.).

Package options include a block of 5 or 10 sessions, or rolling monthly payments with regular time slots. When signing up for a monthly training, the price gets adjusted for the first month.

Prices may vary based on location.

Step 6: Work towards your goals.

You are learning to move safely and efficiently. You have your homework to practice and your training program in place. You have access to the platform that has teaching videos and all the principles, exercises and recommendations that we mention during the sessions so you can look them up at any time. We have an open line of communication so I can answer the questions you may have.
